About Us
Heather J. Butcher
Heather Butcher is a Certified Personal Trainer, Red Cross CPR and AED Healthcare provider, Red Cross Water Safety Instructor and Nutrition Counselor.
She is a world class triathlete having been nationally ranked from 1997 through 2002, a USA All-American, 3-time top-10 winner at the Triathlon World Championships and a 3-time top 5 finisher at the Clermont iron man distance triathlon.
As a distance runner, she is a Boston Marathon qualifier and a member of Florida’s Finest for the Walt Disney Marathon in 2003.
In addition to her extensive Personal Training schedule, Heather is currently coaching six athletes online for triathlon and other sports competitions. Her desire is to help every client achieve a higher quality of life whether it is through meeting basic physical conditioning goals or achieving a higher level of performance in sports competitions.
Dr. Theodora Carroll
Dr. M. Theodora Carroll – “Theo” - has been teaching as an adjunct for the Department of Mental Health Counseling at the University of South Florida since 1994. She also has a private therapy practice in Sarasota County, FL. Dr. Carroll specializes in eating disorders and group psychotherapy.
She has 22 years experience as a psychotherapist with fifteen years in the field of treating eating disorders. In addition she is currently President of FeminInsights, Inc. which she founded to develop and implement intensive workshop programs for both men and women who envision their potential for a more creative and cooperative mode of life that allows for caring for the self while recognizing the need for compassion and interconnectedness with others. In addition she has presented workshops at the International Symposium for Eating Disorder Professional.
Dr. Carroll is a graduate of the University of South Florida, receiving her Master's Degree from the USF Rehabilitation Counseling Department in 1984 and her Ph.D. degree from the USF Counselor Education Department in 1993. She teaches Group Theory and Practice, Substance Abuse Counseling, and Counseling Theory Courses to Master's level counseling students She is a licensed Mental Health Counselor, National Certified Counselor, Certified Rehabilitation Counselor and a Certified Eating Disorders Specialist.
Her current passion is triathlon, having participated in 3 Ironman competitions including qualifying for and participating in the Ironman World Championship in Kona Hawaii in October 2004. She will again be participating in this World Class event this coming October. A significant factor is that she has maintained a wellness lifestyle and 100 pound weight loss for 18 years, after years of drinking alcoholically and numerous cycles of weight loss and the subsequent gain.
Dianne F. Cogburn, R.D., L.D., M.P.H
Dianne Cogburn received her Bachelor of Science in Food Service and Human Nutrition from the University of Florida and her Master of Public Health from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. She received extensive lecture experience as Nutrition Director of Duke University’s Diet and Fitness Center and is Co-author of the Duke University’s Medical Center Book of Diet and Fitness.
She has been a clinical instructor for dietary managers and has consulted in both assisted living and long-term care facilities. She combines her 20 years of experiences as a registered dietitian to provide administrative, clinical, educational, and food service support to Hospice and Palliative Care in Charlotte County, Florida.
Diane has been married for 25 years and has twin sons attending the University of Florida and a daughter who is college bound. She enjoys teaching nutrition and wellness seminars for the YMCA, and competes with her husband and daughter in triathlons. She completed her first ½ Ironman in November 2005 where she received fourth place in her age group. She and her family participate in Medical Mission work and have been both to Nicaragua and Africa
